About me

My name is Brandon Rutherford, a senior at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. I will be attending Drexel University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to study photography. I have loved taking pictures ever since I was young. Over the years, I have found myself obsessed with telling a story through pictures and evoking humanity and emotion through my photographs. Photography is important to me because I want to tell stories about overlooked and forgotten things. These stories need to be preserved and shared, and photography allows me to do so. It enables me to stop time and share a moment with the world. Inspired by Diane Arbus, I decided to take my passion for photography and capture life at Wakefield.
